The International Olympic Committee and Scholas take the Sea and Beach School to Argentina, Portugal and El Salvador

Through the Olympism365 “Sports, Education and Livelihoods” portfolio, the surf and life school will be developed.

The Portfolio, promoted by the IOC and led by the SES Foundation, seeks to strengthen skills, improve access to quality education and increase employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for adolescents and young people in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. The Olympism365 “Sport, Education and Livelihoods” launch was carried out by the IOC during the XIX Pan American Games, marking a milestone in the promotion of sustainable educational and sporting youth development.

Pondering Olympic Values: A Commitment to the Future of Youth

Thomas Bach himself, president of the IOC, was present at the launch of the Olympism365 Portfolio, which consolidates the idea that sport is not only a form of entertainment, but also a powerful tool for empowerment and social transformation.

Since its founding, the IOC has been committed to using the unifying power of sport to promote global peace and understanding. By working closely with organizations such as Scholas Occurrentes, the IOC expands its reach and ability to positively impact the lives of young people, inspiring them to reach their full potential both on and off the field of play.

Scholas x Sea and Beach School: Transforming Lives Through Sports and Nature

Scholas joins the International Olympic Committee and the SES Foundation to bring the Sea and Beach School to Argentina, Portugal and El Salvador, offering young people the opportunity to strengthen their personal identity, develop their socio-emotional skills, improve their opportunities for employability through sport and connection with nature through surfing, art and thought.

The surf school is a space where young people create their style as athletes and as people, every day of the year. The program involves adolescents in diverse socio-cultural and economic situations; of different faiths, in vulnerable situations and at risk of dropping out of school. Through surfing, they experience a connection with nature and receive an encouragement to believe in themselves. Scholas believes that sport is an integral part of education, taking play, art and thought as languages of free. Without a reason, simply for the joy of being responsible for the call to listen, create and celebrate.

Conclusion: An Inspiring Future

This joint effort represents significant progress towards a more inclusive and hopeful future, where Olympic values serve as a guide to inspire and empower future generations.
