Be part of Communis Domus, become a CO2 hunter Did you know that for every 100 m2 we offset up to 28 tons of CO2, equivalent to one hectare of forest with 800 trees?
Communis Domus is a program that responds to the call of Laudato Si by promoting actions to generate a real impact through the reduction of greenhouse gases and mitigation of global warming.
In strategic alliance with the climate tech startup Macoma Environmental Technologies, we have established the Communis Domus program aimed at offsetting CO2 and generating a significant environmental and educational impact. A call from Pope Francis to care for our common home to take action in the face of the ecological crisis that humanity and the planet are suffering, seeking collective solutions to the socio-environmental scourge.
Communis Domus promotes and develops different certified sustainability and carbon offset projects around the world based on common good actions accompanied by awareness-raising and training actions in communities. These projects are driven towards a sustainable transition with transparent climate measures and measurable impact.
Projects in action:
● Cool Roof to mitigate urban heat islands
● Sustainable housing
● Murals that breathe
● Special line of ecological nanopaints
In this first stage, we aim to offset more than 250,000 tons of CO2. This is equivalent to planting approximately 7,800,000 trees or 9,600 hectares of forest.
“Cool Roof” nanotechnology is capable of offsetting, with one hundred square meters of Cool Roof paint on roofs and facades, up to 28 tons of CO2, equivalent to one hectare of forest with 800 trees, while at the same time reflecting heat, reducing the temperature inside by 8 to 10 degrees, reducing energy consumption and the use of refrigeration by up to 35%.
The “Communis Domus” programme responds to Pope Francis’ call in his encyclical “Laudato Si'”, which calls for an integral ecology and social justice. It is also aligned with several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the importance of sustainable economic development, the promotion of resilient infrastructure and the adoption of urgent measures against climate change.
